This article covers these error messages:
This automation couldn't run because part of its setup is invalid, incomplete, or references a template that no longer exists.
In short
A configuration error means something in the automation's own setup needs attention, an invalid setting, a segment definition that can't be read, a parameter with a bad value, or a template that no longer exists. Please contact your StellarAlgo CSM if you encounter this issue.
What This Means
Configuration errors happen before your data reaches a destination. StellarAlgo tried to build your segment or run your automation, but part of its setup was invalid, incomplete, or pointed to something that no longer exists. Unlike a system error, this won't clear on its own, the setup needs to be corrected.
Common Causes
The most common reasons for configuration errors:
The automation's configuration is incomplete or contains an invalid setting.
The segment or query definition contains an error and can't be read.
A parameter has an invalid value (for example, a season or date setting that isn't valid).
The automation references a template that has been deleted, renamed, or can no longer be found.
Steps to Resolve
Open the affected automation and review its configuration.
Check the segment criteria in the configuration section of the automation for anything incomplete or invalid, and confirm any parameters (such as season or date settings) have valid values.
If everything looks correct but the error persists, contact your StellarAlgo CSM or support.
Still Not Working?
If the automation still fails after reviewing its setup, contact StellarAlgo support with the following details: the automation name, the segment or template involved, and the approximate time the error occurred.
FAQ
Will re-running the automation fix this on its own?
No. Configuration errors come from the automation's own setup, so re-running without changes will produce the same error. The setup needs to be corrected first.
What does "references a template that no longer exists" mean?
Your automation is pointing to a template that has since been deleted or renamed.
How do I know which setting is invalid?
Start with the segment criteria and any parameters such as season or date values, since these are the most common sources. If you can't identify the issue, contact your CSM with the automation name and we can help pinpoint it.
