This article covers these error messages:
This automation couldn't finish because of a temporary system issue while processing your data.
In short
A system error means your automation was interrupted by a temporary problem while StellarAlgo was processing your data, not by your setup or your data. When experiencing the issue with a time-based automation, simply re-running the automation resolves it. When experiencing the issue with an event-based automation, please contact your StellarAlgo CSM.
What This Means
System errors happen before your data ever reaches a destination. StellarAlgo was building or processing your segment when it ran into a temporary resource or connectivity issue. This is different from a destination error, the problem is on the processing side, not with your connected platform.
Common Causes
The most common reasons for system errors:
The automation processed a very large audience or complex segment logic that exceeded available resources.
The system was handling a high volume of requests at the same time and temporarily throttled the run.
A brief interruption in connectivity to the data service occurred while your segment was being built.
A required data service was momentarily unavailable.
Steps to Resolve
Wait a few minutes, then re-run (if time-based) the failed automation. Many system errors are temporary and clear on their own.
If the automation fails again or continues across multiple runs, contact your StellarAlgo CSM or support so we can investigate.
Still Not Working?
If re-running (if time-based) the automation doesn't resolve the error, contact StellarAlgo support with the following details: the automation name, and the approximate time the error occurred. This helps us trace the specific run and prioritize a fix.
FAQ
Do I need to change anything for the automation to work?
Usually not. Most system errors are temporary and clear when you re-run the automation.
Will the automation retry on its own?
Some system errors, such as temporary throttling, resolve automatically on the next scheduled run. If your automation is time-sensitive, re-run (if time-based) it manually rather than waiting.
Why does a large audience cause this?
Very large audiences or complex segment logic require more resources to process. When a run exceeds the resources available, it stops.
