This article covers these error messages:
• The data sent to [Destination] was rejected due to a formatting or validation issue. (invalid-request)
• A field mapping between StellarAlgo and [Destination] is invalid. (invalid-mapping)
TL; DR
Validation errors mean the destination rejected the data StellarAlgo sent because something doesn’t match what it expects - a missing required field, a wrong format, or an invalid mapping. Review your field mappings in the automation settings.
What This Means
Validation errors happen when the data StellarAlgo sends to your destination doesn’t match the format or structure the destination requires. Think of it like sending a letter with the wrong postal code - the letter is fine, but the address doesn’t work.
There are two messages you might see:
• The data sent to [Destination] was rejected due to a formatting or validation issue - a specific field value was wrong.
• A field mapping between StellarAlgo and [Destination] is invalid - the way fields are mapped between systems doesn’t match.
Common Causes
• A required field in the destination is not mapped in StellarAlgo.
• A field format doesn’t match (e.g., sending text where the destination expects a number).
• A field that previously existed in the destination was renamed or deleted.
• A picklist in the destination changed (e.g., new lifecycle stage options).
Steps to Resolve
1. In StellarAlgo, open the Profile menu in the top-right corner, select Configure Push Destination.
2. Select the Edit icon for the failing destination and review the field mapping section and look for any fields highlighted with warnings or errors.
3. Cross-reference with your destination’s field requirements. Make sure all required fields are mapped and the data types match (text, number, date, etc.).
4. If a field was recently changed in the destination (renamed, deleted, or had its options updated), update the mapping in StellarAlgo to match.
5. Save the automation and re-run it.
Still Not Working?
If you’ve verified all field mappings and the error persists, contact StellarAlgo support. Include the automation name, the destination, and any specific field names mentioned in the error details (if available).
