This module focuses on the Segment Analyzer, a powerful tool for evaluating and optimizing your fan segments. While building a segment is the first step, the Segment Analyzer provides deep, actionable insights into how your audiences are engaging with your campaigns. By leveraging this tool, you can make smarter, data-informed decisions that improve fan experiences, increase retention, and drive campaign success.

Key Outcomes
Upon completing this module, you will be able to:
Navigate the Segment Analyzer: Understand how to access, filter, and review all your saved segments in one place. You’ll be able to toggle between different views and filter by status, ownership, type (static vs. dynamic), and other key metrics.
Evaluate Segment Performance: Use the Summary Tab to review the primary and additional goals of your segment, from ticket revenue to email engagement rates. You will learn to use "advanced filters" to uncover additional purchasing behaviors and refine your analysis.
Interpret Static vs. Dynamic Segment Results: Understand the key differences in how performance is tracked for static and dynamic segments. You'll learn to analyze control group performance for static segments and track population changes and conversions over time for dynamic segments.
Optimize and Retarget: Use the insights from the Segment Analyzer to refine your strategy. You'll learn how to identify and re-engage specific sub-groups—like converted or non-converted fans—by creating new "child segments" to nurture relationships and improve conversion rates.
Key Tips for Maximizing the Segment Analyzer
Align Tracking Dates: Ensure your tracking dates are aligned with your campaigns to get accurate performance data.
Set Segment Goals: Always set goals when creating segments to measure performance against specific objectives. You can edit these goals as needed.
Use Re-Targeting: Re-target fans who show interest or engage with previous campaigns to continue nurturing relationships and improve conversion rates.

Module Tasks
Module Tasks
Task 1: Analyze a Static Segment's Performance
Objective: Review a static segment you've already created and analyze its performance to determine campaign effectiveness.
Steps:
Log in to the StellarAlgo platform and navigate to the Segment Analyzer.
Find a static segment you previously created for a specific campaign (e.g., a "win-back" or upsell campaign).
Click on the segment to view its detailed analytics.
Review the Summary Tab. Jot down the key performance indicators (KPIs) for your primary goal (e.g., total ticket revenue, number of tickets sold).
Compare the performance of your Target Group to your Control Group. Based on this data, write a brief sentence explaining if your campaign was successful and why (e.g., "Our campaign was successful because the target group had a 5% higher conversion rate than the control group, generating an extra $X in revenue.").
Task 2: Track a Dynamic Segment's Population
Objective: Understand how the population of a dynamic segment changes over time and identify conversions.
Steps:
Find a dynamic segment in the Segment Analyzer (e.g., "New Fan Nurture").
Review the population numbers: "Initial Population," "Current Population," and the number of fans who "Joined" vs. "Left" the segment.
Click on the number of fans who "Left Segment." What was the primary action that caused these fans to leave the segment (e.g., they made a purchase)?
Briefly explain the benefit of using a dynamic segment for this campaign.
Task 3: Create a Child Segment for Retargeting
Objective: Use the insights from the Segment Analyzer to create a new, targeted child segment for a follow-up campaign.
Steps:
Go back to the static segment you analyzed in Task 1.
Click on the Target and Explore tab.
Identify a group of fans within the segment you want to retarget (e.g., fans who did not convert).
Click the "Target" button to create a new segment.
Set a new goal for this child segment (e.g., email engagement for a different campaign).
Save it as a Child Segment and give it a clear name (e.g., "Non-Converted - Lite Avidity").
